This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

I realise this depiction may be upsetting to the family members (it certainly is
to me) but if we are to put an end to this mystery, then we have to explore all possibilities.
Whatever was there in 1990, certainly isn’t there now, which means it will be quite
likely all broken up, further down the valley towards Lake Manapouri.
When you think about it, due to the weight of the shifting snow and ice, the length
of time it had been there, and the amount of corrosion that would have set in, it’s
not surprising that it is no longer there.
Why no-one has come across any of it by now is a mystery on it’s own, but maybe what
is left of it is buried under a rockslide? Maybe someone has come across something
and just written it off in their minds as, “That’s interesting”, not realising the
importance of it?
It also needs to be remembered that the position of this object was at 4200’ and
spends a lot of the year under snow and would not be visible during that time.
Maybe there are tramping clubs, or hunters that would like to do a tramp/hunt up
the rivers to the Snow White Creek.? If so, please let me know.
By using Photoshop, I have been able to add a Cessna 180 image onto the photo to
show where this object was at the time the aerial photo was taken. You’ll notice
this cavity between the rocks is a perfect spot to restrain an aeroplane from sliding
further down the steep mountainside.
